One of the best ways to improve and develop your photographic skills is to take more photographs. Even in your own home there are thousands of photo opportunities to take advantage of.

The more you shoot the more you will improve.

Here are a few examples and ideas to help you improve your photography with simply things around the house.

As I'm writing, I can see so many thing I could photograph, here is 40 things just from where I'm sitting!

Here some examples of photographs I took today in my house.

 Running water in kitchen sink.

The sink. This is running water simply bouncing off the washing up bowl. Photographing your kitchen tap will help you get to grips with capturing running water. This is also great for practising composition. I photographed the running water using shutter speed of 1/60, F5.6, ISO 400, and the flash was used.

Tuna tins stacked up.

spoonsThese spoons are great example of photographing reflections and setting up composition of everyday items around the house. This like spoons are great for practising abstract shots. Photographed using shutter speed 1/10 F/5.6 ISO 400, flash not used.

I have showed you different examples of how you can spend just a few minutes photographing and practising your techniques. Have lots of experience is about taking lots of photographs so follow the tips above and more importantly have fun shooting hundreds of photos!
