If your not convinced about having a photographers notebook here are 5 of the most important reasons you should carry one.
1.Your Photographic Ideas. Your note book is the prefect friend for writing down all your photography ideas and goals. What you want to photograph, quick tips and ideas that you find useful and good reminders for taking better photographs.
2.Times, Dates and Places. When your travelling it sometimes gets overwhelming and hard to remember when and where you took your most fantastic photos. Your notebook is great for jotting down important details about your photographs.
3.Names, Addresses and Numbers. Travel photography is a great opportunity for getting some amazing portraits. I have been asked by so many people if I could send them the portrait I took of them. You can write down peoples information so its in a safe place.
4.Your inspirations. You can stick in other photographers work you find inspirational to give you ideas and tips on the road. Write lists of what you love in others work to give you that extra drive and confidence.
5.Your goals and projects. Your notebook is ideal for your photographic projects and goals that you want to achieve on your travels. Writing down goals gives you an easy and quick reference to check your achieving them.
Getting the right Photographers Notebook is a totally personal choice. There are hundreds to choose from to suit all budgets and needs.
Here are 5 things to remember when choosing your photographers notebook.
1.Size. When your travelling size and weight is an important consideration. Your book will need to be small enough to travel with but with lots of pages so you don't run out.
2.Strength. Your notebook needs to be very sturdy to withstand all conditions. Leather or plastic covered books are ideal.
3.Pen loop! This may sound strange but one of the most useful things about my notebook is that it has a pen holder. Its just a simple loop of leather but it works a treat!
4.Pages. Don't just think about how many pages your notebook has but also the quality of paper. Your note book may get wet so you don't want pages that are so thin they instantly disintegrate.
Have fun choosing and using your Photographers Notebook!
